My colleague Ruth will be interviewing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nzepc.auckland.ac.nz\/pasifika\/marsh1.asp\"><strong>Selina Tusitala Marsh<\/strong><\/a>, as well, winner of the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.authors.org.nz\/wawcs0138553\/idDetails=181\/Jessie%20Mackay%20Best%20First%20Book%20Award%20For%20Poetry\">NZ Society of Authors&#8217; Jessie Mackay Award for Best First Book of Poetry<\/a><\/strong> for her debut collection <em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/web.auckland.ac.nz\/uoa\/aup\/book\/2009\/fast-talking-pi.cfm\">Fast Talking PI<\/a> <\/strong><\/em>(AUP)<em><strong>. <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>And today I interviewed <strong>National Poetry Day Coordinator<\/strong>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.randomhouse.co.nz\/Author_Display_32.aspx?CategoryId=121850\"><strong>Siobhan Harvey<\/strong><\/a>, about events happening around the country next Friday&#8211;rather a lot as it happens. You can check out events in your area on the website, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.booksellers.co.nz\/awards\/new-zealand-post-book-awards\/national-poetry-day-events-2010\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But just in case you thought that was all that&#8217;s happening for National Poetry Day<strong><em>, <\/em><\/strong>the <a href=\"http:\/\/tuesdaypoem.blogspot.com\/\"><strong>Tuesday Poem Blog<\/strong><\/a> (of which I am a member) will be featuring a special posting. The hub site will feature poems by all 3 Poetry finalists in the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.booksellers.co.nz\/awards\/new-zealand-post-book-awards\/finalists-2010\">NZ Post Book Awards 2010<\/a><\/strong>: <strong>Bernadette Hall, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bookcouncil.org.nz\/writers\/harlowmichael.html\">Michael Harlow<\/a><\/strong> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bookcouncil.org.nz\/Writers\/Profiles\/Turner,%20Brian\"><strong>Brian Turner<\/strong><\/a>, all on a theme of &#8220;New Zealand&#8221;. The contributing Tuesday Poets will also post a poem with &#8220;New Zealand&#8221; as the theme, although for those Tuesday Poets not from NZ poems may also be about the joys of poetry and the making of it.
