Two new books arrived this week.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>First through the door was an uncorrected proof copy (aka ARC) of\u00a0 The Language of Flowers<\/strong><\/em> by debut author Vanessa Diffenbaugh. There’s a bit of “buzz” about this book and here’s what it says on the back:<\/p>\n

“The Victorian language of flowers was used to convey what words could not, from declarations of love to confessions of betrayal … <\/em>The Language of Flowers is a heartbreaking and redemptive novel about the meaning of flowers, the meaning of family, and the meaning of love. Beautiful, original and utterly unforgettable, it is set to be the fiction sensation of 2011.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Needless to say, I am looking forward with interest to the read.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The Quantum Thief<\/strong><\/em> by Finnish author, Hannu Rajaniemi, is another book that comes with a bit of buzz, including a glowing recommendation from UK SF author, Charles Stross: “The best first SF novel I’ve read in years.”<\/em><\/p>\n

And the back cover says:<\/p>\n
