Plus Guest Post on SF-Signal—“Having Fun With Epic Fantasy: The Band of Brothers”
It’s a day for featuring on other blogs—as well as the Orbit blog here, I have a guest post up on SF-Signal.
It’s the next in my “Having Fun with Epic Fantasy” mini-series (the first was “Making the Grand Tour”) and this one takes a look at “The Band of Brothers.” Do check it out here—and feel free to leave a comment. We like comments! 😀
As the Brothers are done, can you do the Sisters?
Just been re-reading the Black Jewels series and noticing how the Queens relate to other witches.
Jan–I thought I had done ‘sisters’ with my discussion of the “Ladies of Mandrigyn” (Barbara Hambly), and Raederle and friends on the their quest-journey in “Heir of Sea and Fire” (Patricia McKillip)—and I recall the queens relationship to other witches in Anne Bishop as being not at all sisterly … Or is my memory at fault?
I’ve been reading the later Black Jewels – after the witchstorm, in Cassidy’s court.
And Jaenelle’s court was sisterly.
Fair enough, Jan: they were the ‘young queens’ when I think back, whereas I was initially thinking more of the established sovereigns.:)
