Even More Book Release Fun! Plus A Review
A Podcast Panel Discussion:
The thing about the release of a book is that suddenly the author gets catapaulted out of her quiet, reclusive writing existence (which is excellent for actual writing, by the way!) and into the hurly-burly of interacting with the wide, wide world of readers and story enthusiasts of every kind.
Which is kinda fab, really — but it’s equally fab when you get to interact with other authors as well.
So by way of a sneak preview and a Big Hint for Something to Watch Out For, yesterday I recorded a podcast discussion/conversation/’panel’ with fellow Fantasy authors Kate Eliott and Courtney Schafer, which was hosted and moderated by Paul Weimer of the Skiffy and Fanty Show — which is also where it will appear, I believe.
We talked — and talked! — worldbuilding, character development, and magic systems and a whole bunch of other stuff — spanning continents, oceans, time zones and hemispheres to do so.
I really enjoyed the experience — even if it did make me realise that NZ being so far away from most other places (even near neighbour Australia is over 2000 km away) really is a “tyranny of distance” when it comes to interacting with other writers, as well as readers.

Speaking Of Readers — But Also Reviewers: Daughter Of Blood gets “5 Blood Sheep”
Sharon Stogner of ismellsheep not only interviewed me on Release Day itself but has also now reviewed Daughter of Blood.
You can find out why she gave it 5 Blood Sheep, here:
Book Review: Daughter Of Blood, The Wall Of Night Book Three
“It might have been 750 pages, but it didn’t feel like it. There is constant action and I was absorbed in the complexity of the story and watching as all the pieces Lowe has been putting into place since book one start to fall into place … “
Kia ora, Sharon.
