About The Characters: Meet The Minor Players in “The Wall Of Night” Series — Aeln
Recently I’ve resumed my “About the Characters” post series that focuses on the minor characters in The Wall Of Night series — because “I think it’s the presence of the smaller characters that “makes” a story, creating texture around the main points of view.”
Until now, the series has been focused exclusively on characters from The Heir of Night, but now that’s done I shall continue with minor characters from both The Gathering Of The Lost and Daughter of Blood simultaneously — but still in alphabetical order, of course! (The quotes will be the key to whether the character appears in both or only one of the books.)

“Do we let them go, Commander?” Aeln asked. “He meant it about the blood feud.”
“Murdering them instead won’t help matters,” Asantir said, very dry.
Aeln fiddled with his sword hilt and shifted his feet. Thinking things through, Garan reflected, was not the guard’s strongest point. “

“In the anteroom, Morin frowned and stepped close to Aeln, speaking in a clan dialect of Night.
“Should we knock, do you think? Let her know the Storm Spear’s here, at least?”
The glance Aeln threw Kalan was dismissive. “He can wait.”
They could not know, Kalan thought, amused despite his situation, that he had spent seven years in Night. Besides, Aeln was right: for now, he could wait.”
