About The Characters: Meet The Minor Players in “The Wall Of Night” Series — Meet Eanar
In 2017, I resumed my “About the Characters” post series that focuses on the minor characters in The Wall Of Night series, because :
“I think it’s the presence of the smaller characters that “makes” a story, creating texture around the main points of view.”
~ from my Legend Award Finalist's Interview, 2013
Initially, the series focused exclusively on characters from The Heir of Night, but now I’m continuing on with minor characters from both The Gathering Of The Lost and Daughter of Blood simultaneously — in alphabetical order, of course!
(The quotes, together with the covers, indicate whether the character appears in both or only one of the books—although today’s the first time we’ve broken out of single entries for a while!)

Eanar: a Night honor guard in Garan’s eight-unit
.
“It’s always like this in the Gray Lands,” Eanar said, looking up from the vegetables he was peeling, although the small knife continued to move deftly. “The wind never stops blowing. It’s always a sly wind, too. The only place it eases off is close to Jaransor, although it doesn’t pay to get too close to those hills.”

“She’s a traitor.” Eanar spoke with a touch of defiance. He and Keron were new recruits to Garan’s unit of Night veterans, but Eanar came from Westwind Hold where Nhairin had been confined. Garan suspected he construed Keep of Winds’ honor guards being sent to retrieve the fugitive as a slight to his former comrades. “Mazed or not,” Eanar persisted now, “she betrayed the Heir to her death in Jaransor.”
