The About The Characters post series focuses on the minor characters in The Wall Of Night series, in large part because:

“I think it’s the presence of the smaller characters that “makes” a story, creating texture around the main points of view.”

Initially, the series focused exclusively on characters from The Heir of Night, but now I’m continuing on with minor characters from both The Gathering Of The Lost and Daughter of Blood — in alphabetical order, by name, of course!

As you will observe, we are still in the “foothills of M”, having traversed the “great plains of L” for a considerable period – and these particular foothills still have some way to go yet.:D

Meya: attendant to Ise, Myr of Blood’s duenna

Myr wished she was back in her old rooms and could consult Ise without worrying so much about hidden listeners. In the new suite, every room almost certainly had a listening post for the spymaster’s eyes-and-ears, and Myr could not rule out her own household eavesdropping either—if Ise had been here to consult.
