It’s Labour Day…
…and I’m labouring away on the Great Wall #4 Revision, as a good author should. 😀
Thus illustrating the good and bad of the Life Authorial in one hit, since one can write when and where one will, putting up the shutters on the rest of the world.
Long weekends , of course, are also about taking the opportunity to spend time with friends and family, so generally I try to observe them for that reason. Having recently had my Northland holiday, however, and feeling inspired to dive into the next stage of the manuscript revision, I have dedicated a significant portion of this long weekend to WALL #4.
This is not an ‘official’ update by the way, although I do intend posting one of those again very soon. In the meantime, here are a few more holiday photos from the North island adventure, this time with more of an arts and heritage theme.
The first is the Hundertwasser Gallery in Whangarei — looking like something out of a fantasy novel. 😀
The second is the Mission Station at Waimate North in the Bay of Islands, which was established in 1830 and is owned by the NZ Historic Places Trust.
Last but not least, it’s Riff-Raff time! Clearly not in Northland either, with the legend ‘Waikato Museum’ on the building in the background. 😀
So why Riff-Raff of The Rocky Horror Show fame in Hamilton city (Waikato region), Nu-Zild? Welp, that would be because Richard O’Brien, who wrote the show and played Riff-Raff in the film version, grew up in NZ and lived in Hamilton for some years. In other words, he’s a ‘famous son.’
So in the Riff-Raff spirit, take a jump to the left, and then a step to the right, and enjoy your week!
