Thornspell is my first novel and is published by Knopf (Random House Children's Books, USA). It won the Sir Julius Vogel Award 2009 for Best Novel: Young Adult and was a Storylines Childrens' Literature Trust Notable Book 2009.

It may not have been quite the right topic for a blog where the focus is primarily romance—although of course I have just realised that the cited “Halloween” ep of Buffy 2 is when Oz first really “saw” Willow!—but it did strike me as one of the more invisible ‘ties that bind’ of some of long-running shows like Buffy—and short lived ones like Firefly as well!
