Thornspell is my first novel and is published by Knopf (Random House Children's Books, USA). It won the Sir Julius Vogel Award 2009 for Best Novel: Young Adult and was a Storylines Childrens' Literature Trust Notable Book 2009.
Friday night and most of Saturday was well spent working through the last of the “Troll Fell” books (A.K.A. “West of the Moon”) by Katherine Langrish. I am a long-time follower of Langrish’s blog, but I only recently stumbled upon some of her books in a used bookstore in Church Corner, Christchurch. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed reading this trilogy. The depth of research into Nordic superstition and folklore astounded me. Five stars, highly recommended!
