I’m Interviewed Indepth by Lorna Suzuki — Plus More On Women’s History Month!
I’m the featured author this week on Canadian YA author, Lorna Suzuki’s, All Kinds Of Writing blog.
Lorna has had the very great good fortune to have her Imago series optioned by a major film company — but she still has time to chat with her fellow authors. She asked some indepth questions about my books and writing life, but just to get you started, here’s a taster:
“LS: What is the most important lesson you’ve learned on the road to publication?
HL: Just this: it’s the story that matters. It’s your only pilot star.”
Hsst: there’s also another wee Daughter of Blood snippet tucked in there—let me know if you find it! 😉 (No spoilers, though, I promise!)
But to do that you have to check out the full interview—and it’s right here:

Enjoy!

“Staying The Course”: It’s Women’s History Month & Gillian Polack Has A Great Series Running
As mentioned a few weeks back, Australian author/editor, Gillian Polack, is curating a blog carnival for Women’s History Month. The carnival comprises women writers posting on the theme of “Staying the Course” and there have already been some fabulous contributions.
Naturally, I always heart anything my friend and fellow author, Mary Victoria, has to say—not least because she always manages a little drollery. 🙂
I also really enjoyed the inaugural post by Wendy Orr (of Nim’s Island fame), which certainly delivers on the theme ‘with spades.”
And most recently really enjoyed Joyce Chng’s revelation of a lifelong love affair with Joan of Arc.
All great stuff — do check it out here, on:
I just saw your heart. I’m waving from across the oceans! It’s toooooo faaaarrrrr….
It is, indeed. But maybe one day… Cuts to the poem, One Day 😉
