Oops: It’s Monday!
Oh-my-gosh-it’s-Monday-and-I-don’t-have-a-post-up-already — woe (and whoa!) is me and very many (a million? a myriad?) mea culpas!
[Takes deep breath, thinks…] Well, I had intended to bring you another review, this time of The Notebook: A History of Thinking on Paper by Roland Allen, which I’ve recently finished and totally loved — that’s the short version. A longer version will follow, this I promise.
[Takes another breath, thinks some more…] But the reason you behold me, sandbagged by Monday morning and with no post ready to go, bright and early, is because I’ve had my nose to the authorial grindstone, writing, writing, to get a section of the Great Wall Of Night #4 Revision (hereafter, if I ever type it again, GWoN4R –which could almost be Gondor, but in experiential terms is probably far closer to Grond, Hammer of the Underworld) done and dusted.

Grond at the Gates of Minas Tirith
The writing-writing is a segue piece between sections which has required writing some completely new material (quelle horreur — and believe me, dear readers, I kid you not about the horror of being obliged to write new at this juncture) and it’s taken a bit of thinking and long hours to get it done.

All very Grond …
At this point it’s about 90% there, which is why I propose posting no more here and getting back to it. In the meantime, if you’re looking for something new oot thar in Blogland, Kim Falconer has a new post up on Supernatural Underground:
Choose Your Weapon: The Unarmed

Aikido: unarmed combat

Or if you’re feeling epic, have a browse through the Epic Fantasy category right here — there is a very respectable backlist of epic and The Wall Of Night material right there, much of which may well repay a second look (imho, of course, with full admission to being a tad biased 😉 ) And although not ‘strictly’ 100% epic, when it comes to fantasy — yeah, for sure, all the way down! 😀

Stay well and have a good week!
