Inside Middle Earth: Seascapes

John Masefield’s Sea Fever is one of my favourite poems, and I’ve written a few of my own on themes maritime, so in that spirit, I’m sharing a trio of ‘local’ (i.e. NZ aka ‘Middle Earth’) seascapes, which I hope will get all our weeks off to a good start. 🙂
The first, fittingly, is an ocean sunrise from the Wakanui region, on the mid-Canterbury coast:
Heading north, this one was taken on Kapiti Island, looking toward the North island mainland:
And going farther north again, this one is Port Waikato, on the North Island’s western coast :
