O Frabjous Day!
Yes, dear friends, the deed is done — some Rosie the Riveter-style writing muscle has been flexed and the vorpal pen has gone snicker-snack, inscribing those divine words “the end” to the Daughter Of Blood manuscript.
And in achieving that end, I did not have to go quite to my 1 April stretch goal—as discussed on January 20 in the post, “The Tao Of Writing: ‘The Book That Can be Spoken Of Is Not The Book.'”Β I typed those famous (or infamous, depending on your point of view) final words at 12.35 am on March 31, NZ time. π
And what did I feel? Joy, dear friends, pure and simple — and just a stardust sprinkle of that old writing magic, despite the hour, because the end point of the story is ex-act-ly where and as I always envisaged ‘from the beginning.’ Isn’t that just the most amazingly wonderful thing?
Anyway, needless to say I’m hoping for some battery recharge time now, because I suspect the muse would benefit from a little r’n’r as well… π
Huzzah! Hurray!
Thank you so much, Paul!
Yay! So happy you’ve reached the finish line.
Me too, Rebecca! π
Have just finished re-reading both Heir and Gathering in anticipation of this day!!! Congratulations, I am looking forward to Daughter of Blood being on the shelves of a book store near me, or on kindle. The sooner the better! π
Excellent!!! Will see what we can do re sooner and better, though I think the editorial team want their input now!
Doing the happy dance. So glad you are happy with how it turned out. Can’t wait to read it.
There was happy dancing this end too, Sarah, for certain sure… π
Wow! Congratulations! Well done, you!
Thanks so much, Marion: it has been quite the marathon effort!
Awesome!
Thank ‘ee, indeed. π
Congratulations!
Thanks, Catherine.:)
Congratulations !
I am looking forward to reading the end product when it is published.
Have a good holiday too !
Yes, holiday ‘is’ very high on the agenda now. π
Such fantastic news. I am so pleased… Picturing you stretching joints and going out for long, slow walks, no deadlines, no hassles… π
WELL DONE.
Thank you so much, Mary–although of course many long delayed tasks, which have been waiting on book completion, have now reared their hydra heads… :-/ But there will be stretching and walks, as well, I hope, as catching up with friends.
Huzzah!! Great news!! A re-read is definitely in order!
Funnily enough, that is also on my schedule…
