A Geography of Haarth: Ij
The A Geography of Haarth post series is traversing the full range of locales and places from The Wall of Night world of Haarth. Today we’re into our very first entry for “I” — and what an entry it is!

Ij: the Golden, the greatest city of the River, built on the delta between the river Ijir and the sea

“And after that? Malian wondered. But she said nothing, just slipped off the bed and walked over to look at the map, turning the tabletop beneath her hand. “Spring came to the River in a flurry of blustering winds and driving rain that turned the local roads into quagmires and hurled the first fragile blossoms to the ground. I would love, someday, a Sword and Sorcery novel set in IJ–even if we get hints of that sort of thing in The Gathering of the Lost
It’s definitely a world within itself, isn’t it–and kind of lends itself to that sort of storytelling.:) But I think I’d better finish WALL first!
