Toward the end of last year, I was delighted to be visited by Marion Drolsbach, who translated The Heir of Night (The Wall Of Night #1) into Dutch.

Marion Drolsbach, translator extraordinaire 🙂
As well as being a professional translator, Marion is also a dab hand at photography, so over the next while I’ll be sharing some of her photos, taken at one of Canterbury’s braided river mouths.

All in the spirit of continuing the “inside Middle Earth” theme that I kicked off in my New Year’s Day post on Supernatural Underground. Those were my photos — but now, I feel, it’s time for some fun with friends. 😀
I can think of no better place to start than with a sunrise image. Enjoy!

When it comes to holiday season booty, my haul was decidedly bookilicious. I’ve already mentioned AK Wilder’s much-awaited Curse of Shadows

Those of you who visit here regularly will know that I number several of Ms McKillip’s books among my all-time favourites, and consider myself greatly influenced by her writing. Putting together a personal tribute was a big deal for me, so I was very glad to see that it struck a chord.

Happy New Year, one and all!
