No, I Didn’t Forget …
… to post today! I’m just a little later than usual, is all—for a number of reasons. Firstly, given the year’s big book goal, discussed here, I’ve resolved to reprioritise my days away from emailing, blogging and tweeting, to actual WRITING: oh my!
So there may be days when the blog posts are not posted in the most timely of fashions. But, in fact, I am hoping that by keeping the posts shorter and more book progress focused I shall still be able to manage both writing and posting ok.
I guess I shall keep you posted on that one! 😉
But in terms of what’s happening, I have been working on Daughter of Blood, The Wall of Night Book Three, revising around 1600 words today and writing another 1600 new. I’m still kind of inching forward but the story is starting to flesh out, which is great.
And just so you know, the character I’m spending time with right now is Kalan–and both the arc and the feelin’ in me writing bones is that there is going to be a lot of Kalan time in this book.
Other things that are happening include:
- I’ve sent a draft for a guest blog post, titled “Making Epic Fantasy New: Do We Need To?” off to SF Signal and am looking forward to hearing back re their thoughts.
- Gillian Polack has a wonderful “Place As Person” guest post up on Mary Victoria’s blog: you absolutely should check it out here.
- And tomorrow, of course, is the UK mass market release day for The Heir of Night: that’s UK time, so ‘effectively’ Friday here, so look out for my companion post then. And if you know someone in the UK—do ‘tell them all about it!’ 😉
Great cover!!
I think so! 😀
I shall start celebrating your release day forthwith.
Thank you for linking to my place :).
Also, maybe watch the post…
It’s a great post, Gillian—I want everyone else to get the goodness, too!
And “I’m a-watchin’…” 😉
