What’s Coming Up, Plus Fun Links From The Week
Here in NZ summer is transitioning in autumn, and I imagine the far side of the world is in a similar state of flux with winter transitioning into spring.
A constant aspect of transitioning seasons for me is feeling that I have Far Too Much To Do — possibly, dear “…on Anything, Really” readers because this year, in the euphoria of completing the Great Daughter Of Blood Edit I said “yes” to doing far too many things…
However, some of the things wotz coming up are a lot of fun and I’m very pleased to be part of them. This week it’s all about 1 April (yes, yes, I know, the irony has not escaped me 🙂 ):
Firstly, I have been asked to contribute to an SF Signal Mind Meld that will post on that day, commemorating the contribution of Leonard Nimoy and Sir Terry Pratchett, both recently deceased, to the SFF genre. Given both were giants, not just of SFF but within popular culture, I am pleased that the Mind Meld’s curator, Paul Weimer, felt I might have something of value to say.
The first of the month is also my regular Supernatural Underground post spot. This month I’m teaming up with a few of my fellow Supernatural Underground authors to have some fun around it being April Fool’s Day. We’ll also be doing a book giveaway, so watch this space (or the Supernatural Underground) for details.
Oh yes, and I believe there may be something to do with cricket happening today… 😉

Fun Links from the Week
Hokay, here they are:
My friend and fellow author, Mary Victoria, posted the first instalment of an interview with graphic novelist, Hollywood VFX wizard, and filmmaker Roger Kupelian — a great conversation around both their recent projects. You can read it here:
A Conversation with Roger Kupelian: Part One
.
On Wednesday, Rebecca reviewed the film Another Earth for Big Worlds on Small Screens.
The theme music was played on musical saw (yes, that’s right—you didn’t misread!), and the artist, Natalia Paruz, contacted me via twitter to ask how I enjoyed it. I listened to a snippet available on the composer, Scott Munson’s site and enjoyed it quite a lot. Check it out for yourself and see what you think:

As those of you who have been following Ruffians & Roughnecks may know, I’m also something of a fan of Merriam Webster’s online dictionary. This week, the team there posted an inspirational look at:
Words We Re-Learned at TED2015
I hope you’ll take a look and be inspired, too.
Thank you very much, Helen! I’m so excited that people in New Zealand are listening to my playing!
I love the YouTube clip of you playing the Star Trek theme in the subway: that was very cool.
